Anti Spam Policy

The following describes the Anti-Spam Policy for plannerprep.ca

What Is Spam?

Spam is unsolicited email, also known as junk mail (received via email), or UCE (Unsolicited Commercial Email).  Virtually all of us have opened the inbox of an email account and found emails from an unknown sender.  By sending email only to those who have requested to receive it, we at plannerprep.ca are following accepted permission-based email guidelines.

When you fill in your contact details on any of the optin forms on our website you are giving us permission to contact you via the email that you have provided. As this is directly requested and authorized by you it does not constitute as spam.

What Are The Laws Against Spam?

As with any body of laws, any individual State or Province, spam statutes can and will vary.  The spam laws of each State or Province can not only vary, but also have different definitions of unsolicited commercial email.  Additionally, there may be various federal agencies keeping track of spam, including the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in Canada and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the United States.  At the Federal level, the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation and the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 in the United States promulgates some attempt at a coherent and unified approach to unsolicited commercial email.  Ultimately, it would be difficult to enforce spam law violations on any consistent or pervasive basis, so your own vigilance is your own best first line of defense.  Beyond that, we protect you by ensuring that you are 100% in control of whether or not you ever hear from plannerprep.ca, by email initially or in the future, as detailed in our “No Tolerance” policy below.

As a Canadian company we abide by all Canadian anti-spam legislation. We will ensure that visitors to plannerprep.ca have a way of giving consent to receive any communications via email either through a consent box or via clear communication on the website. We will clearly identify ourselves and anyone else on whose behalf the message is being sent. Messages may be sent from plannerprep.ca. All members who have subscribed and given consent to receive information will also be able to unsubscribe at any time. Each email that you receive from us will have an unsubscribe link. You can click on this and be immediately removed from our list if you no longer want to receive information. Also, the email will clearly have the name and physical address of the sender.

The Canadian Anti-Spam Law (“CASL”)

This document is in compliance and adheres to the changes made, as of July 1, 2014, to the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation.  According to the Act we understand that it is “An Act to promote the efficiency and adaptability of the Canadian economy by regulating certain activities that discourage reliance on electronic means of carrying out commercial activities, and to amend the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Act, the Competition Act, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the Telecommunications Act (informally known as Canada’s Anti-Spam Law, CASL)”.

We understand that emails sent from “plannerprep.ca” are classified as ‘Commercial Electronic Messages’ (“CEM”s) these can encourage participation in a commercial activity, without regard to an expectation of profit. However, not all of our communication via email is intended for profit or gain, we too send information that may inspire thought. Although, it is important to make clear that the information that is sent is not to be deemed as medical advice, but rather information in general for entertainment purposes. Direct medical advice would constitute a doctor patient relationship, which the visitor to the site can enter into by making an appointment with one of the practitioners.

Our No Tolerance Anti-Spam Policy

WE HAVE A NO TOLERANCE SPAM POLICY.  We do not email unless someone has filled out an “opt in” form or “webform” expressing an interest in our information or products and/or services, or otherwise directly and proactively requesting it. This can include participating in our research and or surveys, as well as participating in any type of contests, free gifts, or promotions that are offered that require filling in a form.  News of the features and benefits of membership and participation is spread through advertising, joint venture marketing, and word of mouth, so we are only building relationships with people who wish to learn more about what we have to offer and willingly subscribe to our content and contact through email.  You are always completely in control of whether you receive email communication from plannerprep.ca, and can terminate at any time.

NOTE – Every auto-generated email contains a mandatory unsubscribe link that cannot be removed.  Therefore, each communication generated by plannerprep.ca carries with it the option to “unsubscribe” and never receive another email communication from plannerprep.ca
